Great story. It's a shame someone had to lose his life, but good job by the homeowner.

My FAVORITE part of the whole report was the last five words...

An unusual, un-biased report in the story:

"The number of killings nationally of a felon during the commission of a felony by private citizens has increased in recent years, from 196 in 2005 to 278 in 2010, acording to FBI Uniform Crime Report statistics."

Does it mean that criminals are getting stupider, since the GGs are killing more of them?

I was told by an old guy at the range that it is the hole that is deadly, not the size of the hole.
No trees were harmed in the construction of this post. However a large number of electrons were indiscriminately aroused.

    You gotta love this guy.
"I aimed right for his heart"
In Earl Jones’ mind, his actions are justified, as well. He said he was completely within his rights to defend his life and ranch home on the 500-acre farm he has worked since 1955.
“I was hoping another one would come up – I aimed right for his heart,” Jones, who served in the U.S. Army Air Forces from 1941 through ’46, told the Enquirer Monday afternoon. “I didn’t go to war for nothing. I have the right to carry a gun. That’s what I told the police this morning.”

    I love that quote.

How many were alert and/or ambulatory when they reached the ER? when the paramedics got to them?

Not really...whats sad is that he forced the homeowner to take his life. If he had just stayed home and played video games...
