"Reynaldo Cuevas was shot and killed by police after being taken hostage by two armed thugs.
An innocent worker was shot and killed by cops after being taken hostage by three thugs inside a Bronx bodega with another worker, witnesses and police said.
"The store was being robbed and police responded and shot a worker by mistake," according to a law enforcement source.
Reynaldo Cuevas, 20, was inside the Natalie Grocery store on East 168th and was taken hostage after three men entered the store around 2 a.m., Cuevas' cousin told The Post."

Cuevas, who was not being held at gunpoint,
ran out of the store and tripped on a fire hydrant before being shot by police, witnesses said.
Police "shot him [Reynaldo] right in the neck," Garcia said. "
He didn't have his hands up. He fell to the ground and the cops grabbed him by the arm and dragged him on the street."
I was pretty upset at this story at first glance, but after reading that line, im not sure I would have done anything different.
Tragic situation.

Just because a man is running doesn't mean he is a BG. all too often the cops over react as in this case. If that was a civilian that shot him they would put their name in lights

From the description could it be when he tripped and fell into the cop the firearm discharged by accident? If so, then the cop violated one of the cardinal rules of gun safety-Keep your booger finger off the bang switch!

Guns are dangerous. Bloomberg should take them away from the cops.

Time to jack that trigger pull up another ten pounds.

Poor choice of words, I meant the cop had his finger on the trigger and inadvertently pulled during the collision.

I must be psychic...or psizophrenic or sumpin, when the NYPD Cops injured 9 bystanders last week I made a comment "What next shoot the hostage during a hostage situation then shoot the BG"

The firearms training in the New York must be very sub-standard? Or do they not care? Shooting the innocents might prevent a hostage action?
English is my second language, I have been told my use of it is harsh, apologies if this is the matter.
