A mother and daughter duo and their pink pistol proved to be too much for a serial burglar who broke into their house in St Paul, Minnesota.

I love that a British paper is reporting this. Maybe the Brits will wake up one day and realize they'd like to be able to defend themselves too!

I doubt that on the Brits. They probably thought that the gun was just a toy. In a country without guns why would the believe someone would want a pink gun? Who would take it seriously? lol

BOOya grandma!!!! Probably not a great idea locking him in the house, but I'll start a slow clap for them anyway.

"Mooommmmmm, now will you please get a gun of your own, and also there's a carry class next week."

I'm thinking he's gonna have a rough (ahem) ride in prison after getting beat up by a woman.

I can already hear his cellmate:

This is clearly "man bites dog" news for the Brits... good on them for publishing it!

I read about that in the Pioneer Press the other day. Other than the oversight (which I'm thinking she may not repeat) of leaving an unsecured and unmonitored door, I don't think I'd mind these folks living next door to my Saint Paul home!

"He told police after his arrest that he tried to get up, but the woman put her foot behind his neck and "kneeled in the center of his back."

    Love it!

He said he usually went into people's homes while they were doing yard work, including this incident. While my door is always locked when I'm in the house, I've NEVER locked the door while doing yard work! Never even crossed my mind...

I'll bet daughter will start carrying that gun with her even at home.

Salute to you ladies! I wonder just how many men would have reacted as effectively as you two did? Brave women.
