Stupid. Ditto prayers for the employee's family.

AFAIK per WM's policies that guy wouldn't have even been prosecuted for larceny unless he was a repeat offender. Sad.

At least he had the decency to remove himself from the gene pool. A shame that someone else was lost in the process.

Wow...Dead for saving Communist China $16.00 in undershirts that Red Chinese owned WalMart paid some dirt poor underage Chinese Girl (working probably 12 hours a day at sixty cents a week) to sew together in a sweat shop.

That sure was worth earning a Toe Tag for.

    Choose your battles carefully folks.

You can be 100% Right and still wind up 100% dead.

Hope that his family can get along OK without him.

In a situation like this, I would think WM's policy would be to follow and observe the suspect and notify police. I worked in retail and although we stopped several shoplifters, I see now that it was a stupid decision. Most of the time, we would have been able to get a license plate # and provide the police with a good description too.

And the irony of all this is that in retail, the biggest loss comes from 'paperwork shrink', mistakes made in inventory. If you forget to enter a truckload of merchandise into the computer, kiss $50,000 good-bye. Someone stealing $16 in underwear is nothing. Definitely not worth risking your life over it.

My prayers to the employee's family.
