TRAGIC: Father shoots own son in ski mask
Jeffrey Giuliano Fatally Shoots Masked Burglar, Finds Out It’s His Son Tyle Giuliano | TheBlaze.com
Just makes me sick to my stomach. Can't imagine the feelings of this man and his family at the moment. Why in the world would his son come at him with a shiny weapon???
May God provide them some comfort at this time.

While I cannot imagine the fathers sorrow, his son did make a poor choice. My condolences to the family.

His son made a series of horrible choices and it is unfortunate that the father will have to live with the consequences of his son's choices.

1 AM kid should have been in bed,not our prowling the neighbors house.I would be surprised if he doesn't end up being tied to other area burglary/thefts,nothing like an alibi from your parents claiming he was home in bed by X time every night

Thats sad. Pretty tough situation, probably shouldn't of grabbed a gun and went to a neighbors house, maybe just should of called 911,

Here's my question...If a neighbor calls you for help with an intruder, is it wise to go with your gun, or should you call the police or perhaps both. It seems like a good way to get involved in a shooting to me. My prayers for the father.

Back in high school, a guy in my school was killed by his father when they went out at night to check for a prowler and went in opposite directions around the house. The father later committed suicide because of it--a double tragedy.

Condolences to the surviving folks who cared about this guy. Can't be easy on any of them.

I couldn't even imagine. I've had the talk with all of my kids and I think should be a standard to have that talk for those of us who will defend our homes with firearms. Our 19 year old has come in late a couple of times while we were in bed, fired up the dogs and made sure that he yelled that it was him. I've told them that I don't give a rip if they wake us up, just don't try and sneak around the house in the dark. They all know that sneaking around houses late at night or pranking someone at their house is also a good way to get dead. This is very sad indeed.

What can be said but that it is a tragedy.
A tragedy that the son was making the wrong and yes, deadly choices. Don't know what would possess a 15 year old kid to attempt this, unless he was just bound and determined to go this direction, or he was addicted to drugs.
A tragedy that it just so happend that dad was the instrument for the demise of this potential career criminal.
I just thank the Lord this has not happend to my family and my prayers for and condolences to the man.
