Detroit family robbed after letting relative into house
A 51-year-old woman's nephew appeared at her door in the middle of the night claiming to be sick, so she let him inside to rest — but she was betrayed, police say, when the nephew shuttled his girlfriend and another accomplice into the house, where they ordered the family at gunpoint to lie on the floor before robbing them.

Just another day in the D.
They have to start letting the police do their job, instead of ham-stringing them.
Only then will this type of shennanigans begin to slow up.

As if one needs a special geological location to do this sort of betrayal. It seems to me not long ago a girl kill all in the family, for her boy friend.

Sorry onshot, but I gotta' disagree with you here. No amount of "letting police do their job" would have prevented this crime. Detroit and its citizens have much deeper "issues" than ham strung LE.

I'd give the Nephew the medication he needs because he needs to be cured...lets see some sodium pentathol some Pavulon..and then potassium chloride,or a bullet whichever is cheaper

It's amazing...everyday I read something that makes me so happy I left the D for sunny Florida. Sorry fellow Michiganders...I don't think I'm ever looking back. Besides fresh water, open carry, and Red Wings hockey I don't think I'll miss it too much. :P

Sorry to be blunt but this woman is a moron. She may have a good heart, but a moron none-the-less.

Sheep get fleeced. I didn't make the rules. You don't want to get fleeced, get a little common sense and don't open your door at 2:30 a.m., in the hood, especially to someone with the names of dead friends on their arms. Family or not.

"(The nephew) left the dwelling minutes after the other two suspects,"
I guess that's a dimwit's attempt at plausible deniability.
Anyone else check out the "Interactive map: Major crimes in Detroit" to the right of the story? Good God...

I'm sure the nephew didn't think his own family would turn him in!

Looks like Thanksgiving dinner will be a little awkward this year.
It's all part of the big picture.

Agreed, people get the city the want and deserve.
English is my second language, I have been told my use of it is harsh, apologies if this is the matter.
