I still can't believe how many people just violate the basic shooting rules. The relative deserves to have the entire book tossed at them.
Only if she were ~15in long with ~4in legs.Quote:
"Girl, 9, in black and white costume shot in shoulder as relative mistakes her for skunk"
Doesn't pass the "sniff" test, methinks.
First it was snakes, then the porcupines, now the skunks. They're getting organized I tell you!
Maby this guy should be dressed up as a "yote" and turned loose.. just sayin
IF, if he was in Mi. and IF, if it wasn't a nine year old girl, he would have been good, as you may take them anytime.
They get to be a nuisance around here when the population gets up.
Don't want the dog of kids spooking one that ventures too close to the house, or if we have the BBQ going after dark, or if we have a bon fire going and someone steps away to go to the house or elsewhere.
Sad the dummy can't tell the difference between a real skunk 10 inches off the ground, and a little girl 4 feet off the ground dressed as one.
Oh well, I guess she should have dressed as the Fairy Godmother this year.
Glad she will recover. Could have been a lot worse as he fired a shotty.
The next family reunion is going to be a little uncomfortable...
When I killed the porcupine the backdrop was the ridge at an angle behind the critter. Unless I hit a rock that caused something unexpected to happen, the only life in danger was the quilled beast.
I knew my target, and what was beyond it. I follow the the rules of safety.
I'm wondering whether the shooter's beginning to question the basic utility of the four essential gun safety guidelines, now. Can't imagine that nobody has mentioned it to him, by now.
One question remains in my mind, though: if he did that to a skunk, I shudder to think what he did to the wicked witch or the E.T.
The Anti-Gunners will Love this one. Seriously though, what in the hell was he thinking, I'd rather have heard that he was drunk, but they say he was sober, thats scary stuff
Now on to the idiot's lack of firearm safety. What made shooting a super-sized skunk, in the dark, during a party sound like a good idea? I say find something to charge him with.
