    And dang lucky it worked out as well as it did IMHO.

    the couple had gone to a church function and had pulled into a parking lot to discuss ongoing problems when the suspect pulled out a kitchen knife and began stabbing the victim, breaking the blade in the process.

    The victim, who was driving, crashed into a flowerbed. Both got out of the car and the assault continued.

    The suspect was choking the victim when a paramedic arrived and held him for officers, police said.
