You know, I could move to that town, park a videocam on the lawn, and press $2500 charges against each and every dog's owner that came widdling in my yard, if such an ordinance holds water. Nice little side income. One accidental, can't-hold-it widdle? Hardly a criminal act, let alone a $2500 one.

I'm assuming the li'l guy then did what he should have, once the stupidity was explained to him: peed all over the ticket, as well.

I hear stuff like this and I seriously wonder how our society could be going down so fast. It's ridiculous, absurd, surreal...I can't think of enough adjectives to describe this political correctness run amok. We've lost all commom sense and sense of proportion.
What's even worse is that the cop even considered for one second that giving a toddler a ticket was a good idea. That rigid application of the law without regard to circumstances is scary.
I hope a judge will throw that out of court. Geesh.

He probably should be because it's almost impossible to have training sessions for common sense. He won't be fired though if he was following the letter of the law. His lawyer would get him off in a heartbeat and he'd get back pay, vacation time and probably sue for damages.

Well, they reduced the Public Urination charge to Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor charge. The CLEO would not mind if the DA dropped the charges. Why doesn't he have a talk with the DA and make it happen. It was his guy that went overboard.

I read that the police chief had already thrown out the ticket.
Everyone interviewed in the town said they were embarassed by it all.
