My son was a Marine. Trust me on this, there are no Ex Marines. Only Marines on active duty, and Marines on inactive status. They are all Marines.

Many of us, me included, who are not military have used the phrase ex-Marine but not in a condecending or insulting manner, it's just an English phrase that describes something but perhaps in an erroneous way. My appologies.Originally Posted by Crowman

This Marine busted a cap into some thug. He could easily have been Army, Navy, an Aviator or someone stuck in the States. The fact is that someone from the WW II era took his safety serious enough to shoot the perpetrator and stop the threat. 'Ex" anything does not matter.
