I think we should give truck drivers, who pass the federal background check, unlimited carry rights. However (when you are done laughing at the previous sentence, there are problems).

I know that many trucker's carry. No issues there. The problem is when they have to deliver to Federal Installations, Military Bases or other Gov Agency places..... or Illonois, NYC, LA, Chi-Town or other bastions of Gun Free Zones.

They get searched, and often are treated as criminals, just for passing a red line painted on the pavement, before they are searched. Already guilty! Bull......

We can now afford (just hit the press yesterday if you were not paying attention) a newly unionized TSA.... but cannot allow our key people who are the backbone of US Commerce (the truck driver) special considerations (if they can pass a simple background check - like all of us) to protect themselves and cargo?

Granted - Most companies like Walmart (huge captive driver fleet) and others would never sign off on the Corporiate Liability for the drivers, so... they are on their own.
