The article wasn't totally clear but it appears the lady was talking to the scum bags thru the locked front door and they broke in when she wouldn't open it. All the more reason to have a gun on your person if someone knocks at the door.

Could have been a cheap screen door. I see a lot of people who don't even have a screen door and just open the solid core door for just about anybody. That is why I have a very secure (and good looking - not getto) security/screen door. No one else on my block has one. That is their decision.

This is also why I carry at home. And I live in a very nice and quiet area. Though the home breakins and invasions are slowly upticking this past year.

    Glad nobody was injured.

I don't open the door tor anybody I don't know. It'd br very odd for somebody to be knocking on my door (I live out in the sticks) if they didn't know me. A few dirt roads from me is a road that's lined with nothing but trap houses and break-ins are now becoming the regular in my small area. If I'm awake, I'm armed.

Well the odds are that this family votes to ensure that their neighborhood is a criminal safe zone. San Francisco is full of 'em. I'm glad that the criminals decided to take mercy on the family and only shoot and miss. I like how they refer to the scumbags in the report as "men." MEN don't steal X-Boxes.

I meant as in age but yeah, you have a great point. In other words it sounded to me like they were probably teens.

Crime can happen anywhere, but that happened in one of the worst parts of St. Louis.
