Whitlock: After Belcher tragic murder-suicide, why are Chiefs playing? - NFL News | FOX Sports on MSN
How many young people have to die senselessly? How many lives have to be ruined before we realize the right to bear arms doesn’t protect us from a government equipped with stealth bombers, predator drones, tanks and nuclear weapons?
Our current gun culture simply ensures that more and more domestic disputes will end in the ultimate tragedy, and that more convenience-store confrontations over loud music coming from a car will leave more teenage boys bloodied and dead.
In the coming days, Belcher’s actions will be analyzed through the lens of concussions and head injuries. Who knows? Maybe brain damage triggered his violent overreaction to a fight with his girlfriend. What I believe is, if he didn’t possess/own a gun, he and Kasandra Perkins would both be alive today.
what a dope

I think he is right, but not in the way he thinks. The anti gun culture is what contributes to this in that the blame will be placed, as usual on an inanimate object rather than the individual. He tries to correct himself when he gets to the head injury concussion part, but what the idiot fails to realize is that the guy would have done it anyway. The instrument used is inconsequential.

If only murderers would follow the laws proscribing murder as a crime.
Until then, it hardly makes sense to disarm all potential victims who are forced to face surviving such violent people.
Of course, it's not the "gun" culture. Rather, it's the murder-is-justifiable culture of those who think lashing out at others via violence cures anything.
"Dope" is a good word for him. He'll likely never understand, until he himself is under an "upraised knife" and has to deal with the inevitability of his own inadequacy in a situation when he's unarmed and utterly incapable of surviving it. THEN, he might understand why the inviolability of the 2A was enshrined in the Constitution from the start.

Thoughts: Justifiable self defense.
Explain: How does
disarming victims
reduce the number of victims?

If he didn't have a gun....he'd still have a knife. Murder has always existed and it always will, its the people not the pistols.

Are you kidding me? NFL Anti-gun crap?
Did Bob Costos really just use the Kansas City Chiefs murder to grandstand for taking away hand guns??
Am I now reduced to listening to anti gun political rhetoric while watching an NFL football game?
Did he really use a trajedy to further an anti-gun agenda?
Is this what we have to look foward too?
Is it an accident, or is it part of the new plan to brainwash the public into thinking we need more control....the same sort of gun control that the United Nations is pushing all over the world?

My opinion shouldn't be taken seriously due to the fact that I've been shooting guns for over 30 years and have only recently been active on gun forums, where all the real world knowledge apparently is.

Bad :: Bob Costas gun control rant at halftime
So I'm sitting here watching the Eagles at Dallas, and at halftime they run the story about
Jovan Belcher, Kansas City Chiefs linebacker killing his girlfriend and himself.
Bob Costas then goes on a rant and says flat out that if people couldn't be able to own a gun
they would both still be alive.
Now I have to go to bed pissed....
Anyone else see this ?

Notice there's no outrage over the lives destroyed by the use and abuse of alcohol though.
There is no shortage of would-be tyrants in the world. Bob Costas has just identified himself as one.
