"The man told police he fired several gunshots in self-defense at two juveniles and a man trying to rob him on the street. The suspects were taken to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, treated and released, police said."

I'm guessing the hospital treatment they received was for fresh drawers?

Seriously, I'm glad the people were able to defend and protect themselves. I'd say BG's have always walked this earth, they seem to be getting steadily more brazen, and that's a sad commentary about the future. IMO drugs are fueling it.

from the article: "Everybody knows they have guns. That's why I was surprised someone tried to rob them. It does not make sense. This is not the best neighborhood."

“Typically we don’t advise people do this but that’s what they chose to do,” Roberts said. “Usually we tell people money or candy bars or whatever you sell at your Sunoco aren’t worth dying for. They chose to do otherwise.”
People commit armed robbery for candy bars? (I guess if I searched google enough, I could find a case, but still) Also, how does Roberts know that after they get what they want, no shots will be fired? Inquiring minds want to know.

“All the U.S. gun manufacturers are running triple shifts and are still millions of units behind in back orders to distributors right now,” he said. “Their stocks are climbing right now as well. They are one of the few bright spots in the stock market.”
Looks like there's a chance all you Shield-hunters might be in luck. Interesting snippet about the stocks, is indeed true.

I reckon the little POS that tried to hit the stop and rob didn't figure on it being his LAST STOP!! Good job on the part of the clerks!

I saw articles on both of these this morning. Unless they are missing something in the article, I'd be surprised if either if charged in Hamilton County.

And the Enquirer didn't even skew it to their normal view too badly.

More and more I hear of armed robberies where the robber shoots the clerk just to make sure there are no witnesses.

    From the abovementioned article.

"The most recent U.S. Department of Justice study available, from 1994, found that 1.5 million people use firearms to defend themselves against crimes annually."
