    Home built tank

Not sure where this fits in, They are trying to defend from and defeat their own army. Syrians build their own tank. Looks like a lot of fun, unless they are shooting back. No match for a Bradley or probably a .50 either.

+1 Yes, that would noticeably increase the effectiveness of the armor. I'll keep that in mind for my design

"High-tech, cutting-edge" protection ... against small arms fire. Running on rubber tires, with easily-broken headlights, likely with an exhaust that can be plugged up easily. Hm. Whatever works, I suppose.

If I had a tank, the carnage on the highway while commuting back and forth to work would be horrific...

I am curious as to the grade of steel they used. I guess it would probably do ok against an AK but I wouldn't want to try it against anything heavier.

It will do for a run across sniper ally to get a loaf of bread.

In the mid 70s there was a Chech family that had escaped in a home made tank, they settled close to Fresno Ca. After some time either the IRS or a Census worker tried to make contact and was chased off, a sheriffs deputy was dispatched, and he was repelled at gunpoint. At this point the sheriff dispatched every available officer. Seeing what was going on out side the family again made a run for it in a home made armored car! They had converted a 51 Chevy by covering its body in 1/2" plate, and had filled the tires with some kind of gel. What stopped the tank was it got high centered crossing a shallow ditch! I rember at the time being amaised at the work he had put into the thing! DR

    Nice target.
