Whatever Im not on here to debate the bible, Everyone makes their own choice. So Im gonna say this last thing for tonight,
I wish more people were armed and could of stopped this from happening man, this is some crazy stuff for anyone to kill innocent kids... Pisses me off and is hard to watch.
If we won't allow airline pilots to be armed ( because they can't be trusted or what?)...I see no chance what so ever of teachers being armed.

Granted, this is from 2008 (I didn't go get later info) but
More than 10% of pilots allowed to fly armed - USATODAY.com
there are armed pilots.

Agreed.
IMO, it should be an absolute job requirement of being charged with the lives of large groups of people. Educators and administrators at schools included. Merely going through occasional evacuation drills and sensitivity training doesn't cut it, when the chips are down.

I'm on this board because I'm pro 2A but in what universe do you folks see an elementary school being taught by a group of "Dirty Harry" teachers packing heat? I can't imagine any of my (then) middle aged women teachers, who constituted the majority of my teachers when I was in school, shooting at an intruder who is armed.
+1 a thousand times.
I am not a praying man but my thoughts and heart go out to the victims and their families. As much as I try to understand, this kind of tragedy is beyond my comprehension and it saddens me so much that this is what our world is.
Let this day be about those poor children, the teachers and their families and not about the pro's and anti's. I know we are all thinking about the 2A aftermath but let's let it go...just for today.
It's a poor assumption to think people haven't done so, prior to coming in for discussion.
In the sense that these tragedies are going to have immediate impacts from the knee-jerk anti-gunners we've elected, the sooner we can motivate ourselves to brace for the attacks the better. None of which takes away from whatever contemplation done outside the forums.

My son is in first grade, so I have a stake in this argument. The "facilities guy" as his school (~300 students) is a physically able-bodied male in his mid 20's. He already supervises morning drop-off, afternoon pick-up, plus any special events. He already carries a radio linking him to the main office, so why not have him carry a reasonably compact sidearm as well- just in case?I'm on this board because I'm pro 2A but in what universe do you folks see an elementary school being taught by a group of "Dirty Harry" teachers packing heat? That makes perfectly good sense. I'm just saying that some of the ideas being tossed around of arming every elementary school teacher with a sidearm is a little bit unrealistic & a tad bit silly. We all went to school, we all primarily had the same type of teachers, how many of you can actually imagine a situation where a majority of your teachers from back then would be able to take on an armed intruder?
