Awful situation. I wonder why these guys wanted to shoot up an elementary school? Chalk another one for gun-free zones...

Praying for the victims and their families. I hope the damage is minimal and both of the bad guys are "taken care of".

Less possibility for victims to fight back and allows them to get more notoriety.

At least a dozen dead. Shooter reported to be a student's father.

Sadly, scumbags do not care where or what they shoot, and this may end up just being a domestic violence thing that happened at a school, but who knows until we get the final word.

    Three things to remember though:

    1. In a country of 350 million + Americans, the fact that these types of shootings are so rare proves that we are not living in a society of rampant murderers. It just makes big news when it happens because it is so rare.

    2. Once again, any location declared a Gun Free Zone for "security and safety" is proven to be neither secure nor safe.

    3. Very few people could build a functioning firearm and ammunition in their basement from scratch, but Columbine proved that any idiot can read a book and make functioning pipe bombs and hand grenades from CO2 cartridges in no time at all from stuff they can buy at Walmart by the cart load.

And I would personally rather face an armed idiot (or idiots) that probably can't shoot straight than someone throwing pipe bombs my direction like happens in other countries. A bullet may have someone else name on it but shrapnel covers a much wider area and is says, "to whom it may concern."

Thank you for the kind words.

This is surreal. An elementary school? the police are keeping lips sealed as to the status of the second alleged perp, who may or may not have been apprehended in Danbury. Just the same, I am remaining hyper-aware while trying to remain calm. Never have I been so comforted by the tool on my belt.

My wife is now telling mr that in upwards of 20 children injured.

I just want to go get my baby girl from her school, but I need to trust in the police and await their orders for pickup.
    Take the long way home...

Makes me absolutely sick to think of what those parents are going through. Just heard 20 people dead now. Unreal. What is wrong with these cowards?

I am not allowed to pick up my daughter until the lockdown is over (neighboring schools/school districts were all locked down.)

If you're in the habit, please pray for the people involved.
Will keep your daughter and everyone else involved in my prayers for a little peace.

    Horrendous massacre.
Americans understood the right of self-preservation as permitting a citizen to repel force by force
when the intervention of society... may be too late to prevent an injury.
