These horrible events will continue until it become law to have a least one armed individual on campuses during the school day.
I don't care if it is on-duty police, off-duty police, armed teachers, principals, volunteer parents, just somebody to shoot back.

In addition to the families of the casualties of this...... I just want everyone to consider a prayer (or your equilivent of good thoughts) for the families and the LEO and First Responders that have to deal with that scene.

Horrendous act by an extreme sicko in a gun free zone that gave him free will. I have three grandson's about the same age as the victims, I'm typing this with a very heavy heart.

Keep in mind folks this is a very emotional incident in the public eye. As well it should be, it's horrible. Public outcry and solution typically are driven by emotion and not driven by logic or facts. Request that your legislator supports solving this by some other means rather than a gun grab.

So much for the effectiveness of a federal law banning guns from school grounds.

Sad, sad, sad and a glimpse into the direction our culture has gone.

Right. I amend. What public safety mission are "NO GUNS" signs supposed to accomplish?

No doubt, this one incident is going to drive "change." It's up to us to steer that change. Times are about to get tough.

Having no children, it's been many years since I've set foot in a school. So I am just wondering why schools can't lock the doors after the bell rings. If anybody has business during the day within the school, let them get buzzed in. At least that would give one barrier of security and maybe a window to call the calvary. Just thinking out loud.

    Horrible, horrible day .

It goes without saying what the parents and families are going through today. But I would also like to give mention to the LE and other emergency services that had to wake up this morning and arrive on this scene. My hat goes off to all involved as this must be the most feared scene imaginable to have to deal with. Absolutely horrible.

indeed- we're shielded from the visuals but the first responders are subject to the visuals and the emotional toll.

Very sad, my thoughts are with the parents and LEO's that had to deal with this. Last thing anyone should ever have to deal with!

I wonder why he didn't stop when he saw the no gun sign?

Just the civilians who could have saved the lives of 20 children stopped when they saw the sign. You can't get guns out of the hands of criminals or people who plan to murder. You can only stop it with proper training and allowing armed law abiding citizens. This is just sick that they have created schools into these caged hunting killing grounds where you have nobody to plead with other than a man whose willing to kill children.
