You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, "I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along." . . . You must do the thing you think you cannot do. Eleanor Roosevelt

Stirling XD your right about that age when it hits. I have a brother with schizophrenia and it hit him about then. Families have to recognize this better, no matter what government cuts are occurring there is still help out there. Families have to stay on top of it and watch those afflicted with this disease. I can tell right away if my brothers mood is changing and address it with his professionals. I was surprised to hear his mother was a teacher, you would have thought she would have picked up on something going wrong.

I grew up listening to heavy metal music (still do), playing violent video games (still do), watching war movies (still do), reading comic books (violent superhero stuff, still do), I was 20-25 at one time and didn't commit any random acts of violence. Now these days add gun ownership to the mix and... no change.

Hmmm, something must happened with my upbringin'.

We all have choices to make, somedays they're trivial somedays they're not. There have been times throughout my life that I have been so angry at someone and did nothing because I chose not to.

My biggest fear is not me killing someone in anger, it's being able to kill someone to defend myself and my family.

Probably pretty close there. In THEORY these guys should all be vets but they are not. Just guys that want to 'play Army' who rather than joining the Military and 'playing with the varsity,' shoot up malls, movie theaters, and 5 year olds. As you stand in line at the gun shows you can hear them, dressed in 100% cammo, talk like children in a toy shop.

I am confused now. I don't know if you were agreeing with the OP who said all of the mass shooters were white 20-25 year olds, or you were agreeing with phreddy who was arguing against that.

Whitman was the only white 20-25 year old on your list.

The OP asserted that these guys are all non-vets. Whitman was a vet.
