No surprise that I haven't heard about this on the news.

Likely won't get much media attention. This is great news that the officer was there and reacted to prevent further injuries/deaths.

Wow, talk about being at the right place at the right time. That's all we need would be another mass shooting at a crowded theater.

That deputy is a true hero of the day. Could have just as easily been a ccw holder, but regardless, a tragedy was most definitely averted.

Thank god someone else had a 'gun'! I am glad it was an LEO! (makes the paperwork and Civil Suit easier).

However, ................... in some situations............. I would hope that a former LEO, military, or hard corps lawfull citizen with a legal carry would have done the same.

    Thank you LEO!

Great result! Unfortunately, I can see antis pointing to this as an example of why only police and military should carry firearms, since they are "trained" to do so while the rest of us would just wind up shooting ourselves on accident instead of the bad guy.

There are a lot of things the "media" chooses not to report. This will probably be one of them. Only the bad guy is dead, and there are no sad stories and memorials where they can keep interviewing people blaming the guns for the violence. This time the gun saved lives. That goes against the brainwashing they have worked so hard on.

article says he and the man the gunman shot are expected to recover.. so he's not dead.

I hate that thinking. So ignorant. Then again what anti's aren't?

I've been asked about CCW while at calls for service or someone just chatting me up.

My answer will always be the same: I have always believed in it and will never change my mind.

What the heck happens if I'm in a gunfight and no cover close?

i have faith and truely believe that a CCW holder would be there to assist.

She hit him once....but fired 4 shots, a little disconcerning given that there were probably other people in the area. Glad she did put him down though.

There won't be much of this on any news except locally. There is no feel good, popular, stop the violence and ban guns mileage to be gained from this story. Heaven forbid word gets out that an armed person in a theater(who just happened to be a LEO) opened fire and prevented a tragedy. Good job Sgt. Lisa Castellano. The way things are, she'll probably be sued by the slimy BG's family for excessive force. Personally, I don't think it was excessive enough.
