"How most people get hurt" is by violent actions by their attacker.
The best way to guard against getting hurt by the attacker is to harm the attacker before he does harm to you.
This should be clear to anyone who is not a bureaucratic, diddle-brained police chief, police spokesman, or politician who dares not encourage a generation or two of citizens to righteously fight for themselves, and destroy all the work that politicians have done to ensure our reliance on them for every little need in our lives.
