I would like to say that I could not care less what Rham thinks or does, but then I think about the level of influence he has in this country, and I can see him being tapped to fill the presidents shoes by the dems not to far in the future. I think it is clear that he already has significant influence on presidential policies.

Of course Rahm Emmanuel "The Prima Ballerina" would reject proven facts over his liberal anti-gun agenda. It just goes to show the safety of our children are not his true agenda. Gun control is the issue in their "playbook," and nothing will stand in their way to acheive it.

I would listen to Rham's stance - IF AND ONLY IF he gives up his armed guards, moves to the south side and lives like an ordinary Chicago citizen. If he were willing to live by the rules he promulgates, he would have some credibility. As it currently stands, name has none.

Both Bloomberg and Emanuel should do some research on where the original idea for securing schools originated. I'm drafting a letter to the editor (draft comments below), that attempt to shed some light on what the left is calling a "nutty idea."
A Paranoid Vision?
On December 21, 2012 the NRA Executive Vice-President, Wayne LaPierre came out with a proposal to post armed police officers at schools throughout the country to prevent or at the very least, minimize the next school shooting. Immediately, the left began vilifying LaPierre and promptly called the plan “nuts.”
Just how radical an idea or just how nutty an idea was this proposal? Well, actually it turns out the proposal wasn’t a new idea at all. Truth be told, President Bill Clinton proposed the same idea in April 2000 as a result of the Columbine school shootings in 1999. In fact, on the first anniversary of the Columbine shooting, President Clinton announced $120 million dollars in new federal grants to place more police officers in schools (reported in 16 April 2000 LA Times). Clinton implemented the plan, fully funding it, only to see President Obama gut funding for school security in 2011. So, the NRA agrees with a program developed by Bill Clinton—and the left calls it “nuts.” As an aside, the shooting in Columbine occurred on 20 April 1999. The assault weapons ban the anti-gun faction wishes to revive ran from 1993 to 2004. I’ll leave you to draw your own conclusion from that fact.
Clinton called for more security at our public schools as a result of the Columbine shooting. It turns out there was an armed sheriff’s deputy on duty at Columbine High School on the day of the shooting. The deputy exchanged fire with the perpetrators, drawing the attention of the shooters away from students. The deputy and his backup also helped orchestrate the evacuation of students from the school. Even though the deputy’s presence did not prevent the attack on Columbine High School, it likely did save lives.
So, in light of this, the NRA proposes this “nutty” idea of protecting our children to a similar level that we protect our banks and many of our public buildings: with armed security. Again, this idea has been around for over a decade and was proposed and implemented by a Democratic president. The history of this proposal is lost on most and the left responded not with an intelligent dialogue on the merits, but with calls to shoot Wayne LaPierre.
All the while, the Democrats assure us that they aren’t ulitmately after all of our guns…

For anyone who thinks that the right is paranoid...who would have believed a decade ago that the government was going to run the healthcare system?
Socialism is well on it's way but we're derided as "paranoid" and "kooks". The Left wants us to look this way...no, that way...no, over there...while they chip away at our country and way of life that has made us the greatest nation in the world.
It's sickening and infuriating.
