I wonder why R. Emanuel doesn't just use his own town of Chicago as an example of how laws help with gun control.
"That I cannot do."
"Give this to, uh, Clemenza. I want reliable people, people who aren't going to be carried away. After all we're not murderers in spite of what this undertaker thinks."

He inherited that problem; it's all Bush's fault.

It's obvious they really are not interested in protecting our kids in school......all they want is to disarm the public then they'll be happy.....guess they're gonna be Miserable.

Overheard some commentary on talk radio today that one of the biggest problems with the NRA's suggestion is a lack of adequately trained LEOs. Seems most LEOs wouldn't be considered eligible for this duty because of a lack of training in special education needs and child psychology. I'm just gonna assume that custodians, cooks, and secretaries all have that training.
It really is sad that a legitimate concern for kids has to take a back seat to political agenda.

Yeah, I don't understand why everyone is focusing on these 'armed officers' (whatever you want to call them) and their interaction with children. I'm not sure why they think these officers even have to interact with children. I envision these individuals as just a presence, not volunteers at a "Big Brother/Big Sister" program, or guidance counselors, etc. As Massad Ayoob would say "These are sheepdogs guarding the sheep against the wolves"

What Premier rahm emanuel finds truly “outrageous and unsettling” is that mere children and teachers would be afforded the same protection he so deservedly receives.

Rahm should put his Tu Tu on and go back to ballet. He'd be less annoying.
The Obama mouthpieces are out in force. It wouldn't matter what stance the NRA took, the Obamabots would take the opposite.

I live in Palm Beach County Florida and we have had a school police department with sworn officers assigned full time in most schools and part time in some for at least 20 years.........My school district has a land area larger than the state of Delaware. First the democraps blasted the NRA for remaining silent now that the NRA has made a recommendation the democraps are outraged. They do this to divert the attention away from their failed programs or lack of a program.

Yeah, well you don't really need to rely on your military mindset when you have a security detail. It's funny how that's a common theme with all these guys. They scoff at the idea of security for schools, yet they all have a team of armed security to protect them from any potential threats.

Misunderstanding. "Rahm Israel Emanuel was born on November 29, 1959 in Chicago, Illinois,"
Duh, just because someone is Jewish does not make them an Israeli. And the other way around too.

Yeah, but just because someone is born in America, doesn't mean they can't serve, in some capacity, in the Israeli military. In Rahm's case though, he did only serve as a civilian volunteer for the IDF.
