Normal - Chicago's 500th Homicide of 2012
Post 28 December 2012 By Associated Press
My Comments: Gun Free Zones, anyone?
......The last time the city reached the 500-homicide mark was in 2008, when the year ended with 512 killings. Last year, city records show Chicago had 435 homicides.
On Thursday, officials with the Chicago Police Department said the city was one homicide away from the 500 mark. Hours later, a 40-year-old man was fatally shot in the Austin neighborhood on the city's West Side.

They had 943 Homicides in 1992.............seems half that amount is pretty good.

Yes, but these are the policies (Chicago's policies) that the gun-grabbers want to implement nation wide. Kind of supports the argument for keeping states as individual laboratories (and the 10th A) to see what works - or does not.

Except if you want to compare Chicago to another large city, but one that has more rational gun laws - Atlanta. The high since 1999 was 149 murders. Last year was 93.

Unfortunately Chicago is not representative of central or southern Illinois. If it was up to them they would already have CC. Until the demographics of Chicago change and the Daley Machine is booted out, it will be business as usual.

Chicago (like DC and NYC) have some of the toughest gun laws in the nation, yet continue to experience the highest levels of gun violence. This is clear testament to the fact that when you disarm honest law-abiding citizens you create a society ripe with victims for criminals to exploit. However, these statistics and the correlation between gun restrictions and increased violence seem to fall on deaf ears of liberal media and government officials. Time to wake up and smell the gun powder.
