Predators among the strong have always (ALWAYS) sought to impose their intent upon the weak. The devises they use have advanced through; fists, rocks, sticks, spears, arrows, knives, swords, axes...right on up to the latest HK battle rifle. The problem is, and has always been, with banning anything from the aggressor is that banning comes the unavoidable consequence of also taking a defense technology away from...the weak victim.

As an aside, during my days in LE, I saw store clerks and other unfortunates with various things sticking out of them including screwdrivers, a pool stick, scissors, knives, a hedge clipper, knitting needles etc. I actually had a case where a guy had a car's turn signal lever sticking out of him. The BGs will use anything handy. I guess we'll just have to ban these items also to make us safer. It aint just the guns.
