That's the idiot who told his facebook followers that he was about to get shot... Wow. Think about how badly that could have turned out if he had gained entrance to their home. I doubt a hunting knife (or single shot firearm) would have saved their lives.

A felon with a gun... I am sure he waited 3 days for the background check to clear after he picked up the gun! I guess he should be in an universal database so the other criminal who sold the gun to him knows it's safe to sell the gun without fearing it might be a cop.

Maybe it's time the 14 year old be trusted to have access to a more formidable self defense tool. I think he's proven he's trustworthy enough to handle the responsibility. Still, it's a big step.

Glad it turned out so well. I would hate to see how it turned out had the thug gained entry.

Excellent that the thugs reign of terror is over. Permanently.

Yes, but in this case it hit him in the heinie on the way through.

Kudos to everyone for the presence of mind to deal with things in the way that they did. One more waste of oxygen off the streets. I hope the victim and the kids get past this one. At least they'll not have to worry about this rapist/murderer (attempted murderer) again.

I hope all of the kids and the rape victim are provided some real quality counseling for their ordeal. Harrowing to read it, worse to have lived through it.

He'll know for the rest of his life that he materially helped protect the life of another. That's far more reward than anything else he could obtain, IMO.

Hopefully his parents will continue his (and all the children's) education along the right lines, helping them to achieve every means of defending themselves against life's inevitable potholes ... including their very lives. Now they've all got a taste of what can easily happen. I'm sure they'll never be able to forget it. May that day never come.
