Why Galveston? It's a long way from Fort Bragg. Anyone think there's more to this?

You can only train so much in the same mock ups so often. Those are designed to develop skills and rehearse. Sometimes it is advantageous to do an exercise in a realistic setting in which you have not trained or rehearsed in.....just like real life.

If you recall SFODD had to remove U.S. personnel from a jail in Panama City, Panama when we went after Noriega. There is definitely real world mission relevance.

But if you all would rather spend millions of our tax dollars to build a jail on a military base for them to practice in instead of something they can use for free, I am sure the government would be happy to raise our taxes to pay for it.
