This article seems to have a bit more information. Apparently he was helping former Marines that suffer with PTSD at a shooting range and one turned a gun on him.

A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.

Chris Kyle is an American patriot. He served our country faithfully at great sacrifice of himself and his family.
We should let the conspiracy-theory rest until more details are released. It is inappropriate.

RIP to a true warrior hero, that is not the way you should have gone out. This man earned death at an old age and was robbed of that.
There are way to many "coincidences" happening here lately. I'm not the only one to notice them.
