Armed Store Owner Vs. Robber with Knife

The armed store owner stops a knife wielding robber.
GUN OWNER SHAMES KNIFE-WIELDING ROBBER: ‘JUST LEAVE YOUR KNIFE HERE AND LEAVE’
Feb. 7, 2013 7:28pm Jason Howerton
A knife-wielding criminal attempted to hold up a convenience store in Millcreek, Utah on Monday, but left with no money and no dignity. After the robber pulled out his knife and demanded the contents in the register, the store owner said “no,” drew his handgun and generously offered the crook the chance to run.

Good job store owner. Because you can shoot, doesn't always mean you should. Good job.

He then told the crook bluntly, “no… I’m not going to do that.” The next thing the criminal saw was the barrel of a .45 cal handgun.
Good thing Gonzales complied, that could have been the last thing he would see.

The other thing this story points out is that if the bad guy can't get a gun, he'll use a knife.

That was actually a very positive report.

Hmmm... Another one of the 2+ million times a year a gun is used to stop crime without a shot ever being fired.

The store owner was politely 'in charge' of the situation.
Unfortunately, the dirtbag will learn from his mistakes and go on to rob again.

Unfortunately, you're probably right. The BG will learn from his mistake...he will figure out what he did wrong and devise a way to get away with it the next time.

It is noble to show compassion but what the store owner should have done was hold the thug at gunpoint, called the cops and had them haul his worthess hide off to jail.
Letting the thug go was kind of a mistake, even though the guy was caught later on.

^^^^^The crook must have decided^^^^^^^^^^
That the impending AWB and the closing of the "gun show loophole"
and the looming "mandatory background check" scared him into not even trying to buy one legally.

It was great how the owner kept his cool and told the robber to put the knife down and leave.
