I love a story with a happy ending. I still don't know why the homeowner let the BG get his hands on his wife.

You don't know because you weren't there and don't know what happened.

Sounds like the guy who broke in was actually the husband of the woman. She may have been having an affair and he found out, broke into the home wrecker's house and got shot?

Yeah. Something's odd about that fact set. Or maybe the shooter was her brother, who knows. Me thinks there's a history waiting to come to light.

Yeah. She was the bad guy's wife, not the homeowner/shooter's.

Yep, sounds like Mr Dakota Hester was there to retireve his Adulterous Wife Amy Hester and was determined to take her home when the Adulterous Boyfriend Jonathan Wofford shot him.

Seems to be a lot of that going around lately.

I can't say as what I wouldn't want to confront my wife and her boyfriend too.
And since she was in Jonathans bedroom it sure sounds like they were caught in the act.

Not Good! There was a time when Killing the Boyfriend would have been considered justifiable!

Story is too vague to make a comment on, need more details.

Hard to imagine being "barricaded" behind two doors with arms soon enough to matter, then not firing heavily upon the intruder as the last door was breached in such a way that the perp got hands-on with one of the victims in the room. Perhaps the victim hesitated for cause or concern, or serious misses occurred, or that's one uber-quick perp ... Am assuming nobody else was inside the home at the time, though it's unclear/unstated from the report.

Good lesson for all. No guarantees, even if making it to a "safe" room.

In such a position in a "safe" area ready and waiting, a good semi-auto 12ga or 20ga would do nicely. Say, a Mossberg 930 SPX.

This looks like there is going to be a lot more to this story, once the dust settles.

I don't recall such a time, but if there was one, it was wrong (lawfully and morally) then just as it is now.

Killing or attacking somebody because they have a thing going on with your significant other isn't justifiable in any way to me. As a single man, there's been plenty of times where I had a "thing" with a girl and didn't know until after the fact she was somebody elses girlfriend or wife.. I don't think I (or anybody else) deserves to die over that, even if they knew beforehand that she was taken.
