Defending one's castle is overwhelmingly stressful even when one is utterly in the right.
This young fellow performed well under stress, by the sound of the 911 recording.

I like how he was polite enough to ask if he could let the 911 operator go and then said "bye" to her. And she says "bye" back.

Stupid neighbor qoute: Carla Carney, who also lives nearby disagrees, she says three gunshots is too much.

"You should protect your house, but if he was shot once, why continue to keep shooting?" said Carney.

It took the police quite a while to arrive. That old saying definitely applied here, "When seconds count the police are only minutes away." Makes you wonder what might have happened of the guy and his wife were not armed and had not fought back prior to the police arriving. Could have been a very ugly hostage situation.

If the neighbor's home is invaded lets hope she performs as good, and still has the same opinion. He done good. Only casualty was the bg.

I agree with your overall point, but in fairness it took the police 4 minutes to get there (assuming that recording was in real time, that is). That is about as fast as you can realistically expect them to get there.

That is pretty easy to say when its not your house they are breaking into. Three sounds pretty reasonable to me.

I like the neighbor that commented: three is too many. and the other neighbor complaining that the police took too long to get there. In an ideal world, I wouldn't have to lock my door because there would be no need to worry about thugs trying to come into my house.
When will these people wake up and realize we live in a great country but not an ideal world?

Ms. Carney watches too much TV where it seems one shot, one kill is the rule. Shooting someone once and then waiting for them to drop dead is nothing short of STUPID, and a good way to end up dead yourself.

Anti-gunners seem to believe that if we just pass enough laws, we can have utopia. Unfortunately, utopia is NOT one of our choices.

They need to keep in practice since they are planning on Obama/Feinstein/Bloomberg/Etc disarming us. Then they can invade all they want.

I don't know what the local laws are there, but I would think the DA would be hard pressed to bring charges on the homeowner (unless, of course it was his meth dealor or something like that).
