    Smart girl

Kidnapped teen saves self by crashing into cop car

A teenager was kidnapped and forced to drive by her kidnapper, when she sees a police car she purposely sideswipes it.

Now being how she is in N.J. and a teenager she cannot be armed, but we can teach people to use her same method to draw attention to themselves to save their lives

    Smart tactic.

Kudos to the GG. Lesson #1: use your head and resources to full advantage, to survive the encounter.

Bummer for the BG, though. Lesson #264: allowing your intended victim to retain control over the means of survival can be risky.

Yeah, but I bet that NJ cop still gave her a ticket.

I'd be willing to bet a BG in the passenger seat wouldn't be that likely to buckle up, either. Another tactic could be to run straight into a wall/car, hard, to hopefully dislodge the idiot's head from his shoulders.

Either way, Allstate's gonna be ticked.

So, is she, her parents, or the insurance company liable for the damage to the cruiser? Just asking.

With the equipment listed inside the car, the girl's actions may indeed have saved her life.
I'm guessing the dirtbag will now face 'adoption' by a whole new group of people...hope she enjoys it!

"Kidnapped" 10x/day against her will, for years. That just might do it. Might, though somehow I doubt it.

Is something wrong with the picture, or was the girl abducted by an alien?

Looks like a "Oh, my, I forgot my kneepads and K-Y" type look to me, if ever I saw one. Might have been an "alien" feeling for her, to date, but I'm guessing she's about to have a front-row seat to the party in D Block.

Sux to be you, darlin'. Deal with it.

That young woman had commendable presence of mind in a very high stress situation. Heart rate maxed out, options really limited, and she figured it out in real time. She has 'it', what ever 'it' is.

That's the sort of action that's recommended in "Strong On Defense" by Sanford Strong. He doesn't like guns, but everything else in that book is right on. He says, for example, if you are car jacked in the supermarket parking lot, crash the car right there. Where you are being taken is always going to be worse for you because it leaves you isolated with the abductor. The supplies the abductor had with her suggest that was going to be the case here too. I think it's very likely the girl wouldn't have survived this if she hadn't managed to escape.

Her parents should be really proud of her.

    Well done.

Good for her. This is actually one of the tactics my concealed carry instructor suggested. I think any cost incurred for damages will be far less than the cost to the parents in anguish for a lost daughter and the cost to society of the continued anonymity of a kidnapper.

Yes, yes, and no. Her actions created an accident with damages no matter how well intentioned. She likely won't be charged or considered at fault by the local pd given the circumstance. She would be covered under her parents' policy and is at fault for the accident unless NJ is a no fault state. The municipality can make a claim and the insurance company will pay out. Her parents insurance rate will be negatively affected most likely.
