Was the school employee defending his or herself from the student?

This doesn't belong in "In the News" no self defense with firearm.

Stupid people drive cars, stupid people do stupid things, and stupid people do carry guns. What else is there to say? The anti gunners will love this one. Very unfortunate ND.

But, if he'd run over the kid with his car.... horrible accident... shame, unintentional, accident...

Would teachers still be able to drive to school? Or do we have to make them all ride the short bus?

The fact that it was a school employee is not actually important to the story, unless you are trying to push an agenda. It was not during school hours, or a school function, and how many kids get rides home from employees at their school?

Yeah, this will be a black eye for the school carry movement, but only because it will be twisted. Good thing the security guard was "trained" on safe firearm practices...

guy works as a security guard for his second job and was giving the kid a ride home from school. Gun "accidentally" just went off when he was putting the gun
    in the glove box??

    ...smells like day old tuna.

On further reflection, how about this analysis. Who puts a gun in the glovebox with a kid sitting there? Did he have the gun on him at school? Is that legal in CO? Or was there something else going on there that is being covered up? Intimidation of a kid that is being abused gone wrong? The whole thing just doesn't feel right.
