The truth is I can probably find at least one story every week or two of someone in Cincinnati killing someone in self defense. Once again it was decided that charges would not be filed against the shooter.
It is a rather sad state of affairs however, when a 14 year old is stealing a car. Where is the parental guidance in America today, because 7 years ago, when I was 14, it was there? Regardless of age, stealing cars and trying to run someone over is wrong. (And no, I don't think people should leave cars running in their driveway either.) It will be interesting to see how the already divided population of Cincinnati handles this though

After reading more about the case on the Ohioans For Concealed CArry website, apparently I missed the part of the article that says that shooting was last month. I though it was awfully quick for a prosecutor to make such a decision. Anyway, the shooting was on Oct 23, and the decision not to press charges made today. Mr. Hall was also a legal CHL holder.

That's an oxymoron. Largely, it doesn't exist.

That is really sad, but when you play with fire expect to get burned.
The article states:
Finnell was an eighth-grader at Central Fairmount Elementary School, on the city's West Side.
The key word in that statement is, "WAS".
As for parents today, there are no more parents. They are too busy working.

If You're Man Enough...
to steal a car...you're man enough to pay the price...
Finnell made his own bed...I feel no saddness!
The parents of this little thug should pay for the car!

Hey...I just heard on the radio this afternoon that somebody was shot over a Sony Playstation & that folks that have managed to buy one are getting a Police Escort to their parked vehicle.
It's a crazy, insane world these days.

I know if my dad had caught or heard of me doing something STUPID like that, he would still beat my ass today if he were still alive, and I am 44. Just like I would with my 2 kids!
I have caught kids red handed while joy riding, and a call to their parents got me a "you're making that up, my son wouldn't do that". Then they are still mad at me when they come out at 2 or 3 AM to pick up their kids and their car. I would have been begging them to take me to juvenile and not call my parents.
Parents now for the most part don't care what their kids are doing, as long as it doesn't inconvenience them.

I was the same way - if I did anything wrong, my dad would have made me pay for it in a large way! Today, parents (and I use the term loosely) can be sued if they raise a hand against a rebellious teen. Society gone totally amuck!!

You got that right, man!
Had I been caught doing something that stupid, when I was that age, I would have done ANYTHING, to not have my parents involved!
10 years later, I still would have been recovering from the 'whoopin today! :)

well, it isn't like that at my house. My main, primary job is caring for my wife and children. I do my regular job for that reason. It is ironic that people can be so blind, and so selfish, and all it will ever get them is grief. If you want to be happy, put other peoples' welfare in front of your own.

It'd much easier to focus on the innocent civillian who is defending his life than it is to focus upon how & why a 14-yr old would be STEALING a car at 6 am!!
As everyone else has stated: it boils down to the lack of parenting. Doesn't sound from the article that his folks were around.
It's not about the caliber you carry, it's about how you USE it.
