Only in California (or any other bastion of the liberal, anti-gun mentality)

Drunk guy threatens homeowner, breaks in through a window and attacks a legal resident of the dwelling. Gets shot and dies for his troubles and now the homeowner is being investigated for homicide.

Of course the dead attackers relatives say that just because you are in your own home, have a firearm and find someone who has broken in and is in the process of attacking a legal resident of that home, you don't have the right to kill them... Yeah, OK.

Good thing the homeowner did not just wound him...then I guess he would be in serious trouble by California standards........Those people must be smoking more than their selling.....

Manzano’s uncle, “Alfonso,” told NBC Los Angeles that the shooting was not justified.

“Just because you have a gun and its registered, doesn’t give you the right to kill somebody,” he said.

Maybe not, but having Alfonso's nephew break in and attack your son certainly does, and if it doesn't, there's a bunch of folks that need to grab crowbars, and get to work on that San Andreas Fault right away!

I would love to ask Alfonso what he would do if someone broke into his home and attacked a family member of his...but he would probably say something stupid due to the fact that what he already said is stupid.

Yeah, if you got to the link imbedded in the story you'll find a local news article and accompanying video. In the video "Alfonso" says "Just shoot him in the leg or arm or something; you don't have to shoot him in the chest three times and kill him". Sorry Alfonso, but three to the chest is exactly what he deserved.

I wonder why with all the Digging Equipment we have in the United States why we can just dig along the San Andreaus Fault and make it a big river? Then we could ship out all the Gun Toting Folks out of California and insert all the Nations Anti's in their place and let the Dems Govern them.
This way the Libs could live in their gun free Utopia they thinks they can live with, and are trying to force down everyone elses throats.

We could call it the Big Crack Recreational River!

Maybe we could do the same for the East Cost Lib Tards too!

Sigh, another drunken home invasion gone wrong. That's good.

See.. I was taught the opposite of this in my CC class. If you can aim your shots to the leg or arm, you obviously weren't in a panic and in real fear for your life. That's what the DA would say, at least.

You do not shoot to wound; you shoot to stop the threat. If your shot is errant and hits and arm and the attack stops, then that's when you stop shooting. If you shoot him in the chest once, twice, or three times and he stops coming, you stop shooting. It is as simple as that.

What this guy needs to do is advocate against drunkenness or alcoholism or something like that rather than blaming a homeowner for killing an intruder.

Funny thing in CA. Even though CA is not a Stand your Ground Castle State, if you are in your own home, and in defensive mode (with the preponderance of evedince with you), you will not get convicted.

However, the stupid Progressive Left DAs in CA will ensure that they spend a lot of tax payer funded money to make you spend a lot of money defending yourself, until you are not convicted.

Regardless, there are still some good Judges in CA.

I doubt this will go to criminal trial, but you can bet a box of .22 LR that the family of the dead idiot will sue in civil court for $$$$$$.

Sounds good in theory, but the dumbasses would just swim across, just like they do now, just north of Mexico. And the dead guy, was he even here legally? Probably not.

You forgot to make arrangements for the criminals transportation. They will certianly want to set up shop were there are no guns allowed.

Thomas Gilbert Manzano, 24, forced his way into the California residence at around 3 a.m. on Monday, according to police. Manzano had been drinking alcohol for several hours with a friend when they decided to break into an apartment they thought was vacant. They had reportedly been squatting in one of the apartments but got confused as to its location.

Manzano was first turned away from the apartment, but he allegedly threatened the resident and forced his way into the home through a bedroom window and then went after the resident’s adult son. Police say the suspect threatened the son and a physical altercation ensued.

Responding to the commotion coming from his son’s room, the father retrieved his firearm and rushed to protect his son. He then shot several rounds at the suspect.
With manners like that, it was just a matter of time till someone put the phi-slamma-jamma on him.

To the parents...too bad, so sad.

To the rest of the world...good riddance.
