From the linked story, " Joshua Renick, apparently kicked in the door of Chad Heugel’s Indianapolis home."
And this further on in the story, "Court records showed that Renick had an extensive criminal history that encompassed at least four states and included criminal confinement, resisting law enforcement and armed robbery. In 2007 he was sentenced to 10 years for armed robbery, but was released after serving only four years."

So far nothing peculiar--- but... this too is in the story: "Police stated that the entire case is “not cut and dry” but did not elaborate."

    O.K. Now its peculiar!
If the Union is once severed, the line of separation will grow wider and wider, and the controversies which are now debated and settled in the halls of legislation will then be tried in fields of battle and determined by the sword.

Typically when the police say that, there is some link between the two parties.

Hmm, car left in middle of the street with both doors open and the engine running? To me that suggests more than one person in the car who don't want to be associated with the break-in and shooting.

    No kidding.

He was sentenced to 10 years and only served 4??? He obviously was not cured so why was he let free? When is our gubbernet going to figure out that one of the answers to the crime problem is keeping the BG's that get caught in jail where they belong?

I have a nephew and a cousin on IMPD. The nephew says the speculation is that the guy was shot at/near the car and then was dragged into the home. They have no direct contact with the detectives working the case but the rumor mill offers that there will likely be an arrest made in this case soon. This area is not a place that anyone would want to be at 2:30 am.

Then the neighbor must be lying then because he said he went outside right after he heard the shots and did not see that happening outside.

Information in a news story is almost never close to being accurate. The outcome from the detectives could find that he was indeed shot in the home. We won't know until they are done with their work.
