    Post Importance of awareness

You never know when or where. Stay alert.

These happened in what used to be a quiet little farming town outside Indianapolis where I grew up.

From the sound of things and what I know of the area, the shots probably ended up in a wooded ravine, not a neighborhood. [Thankfully]

How did this guy let someone hit him from behind? I would have liked a better description of exactly what happened. We need to be more aware than this fellow if he was on the sidewalk when struck. Glad robber didn't decide to walk him to the cooler. Interesting read, thanks for the post.

Fishers isn't exactly a quiet little town any more. It's an over-developed corridor on a major commuter route.

    Awareness Of One's Surroundings...

    is almost the first rule!...

I find it hard to imagine going to work at 5 a.m. and not seeing EVERYTHING in the parking lot...

Call me parinoid...but maybe I am...

In all fairness...we can all be caught off guard...

    Stay alert...stay safe...

Yes - however careful we can still get caught off guard but - IMO even an ''average'' degree of yellow will include scanning and appraisal of surroundings - plus hopefully too sharp hearing.

Even more so at ''unsociable'' hours! That is when my thinking would be geared to expecting trouble!
