    Attempted home invasion

    http://wavy.com/Global/story.asp?S=5...nav=menu45_2_8

    Always watch your rear.

Virginia Beach Police are currently investigating a home invasion case which led to a man being shot, and a suspect in custody.

He's been identified as 19 year-old Terrel Anthony Bell.

According to a police spokesperson, one of the residents was returning home this morning, and as he was entering his residence, a man armed with a shotgun came up from behind and forced him inside.

The suspect then tried to take control of everyone in the residence, but the men inside the home fought back and tried to take the shotgun from the would-be robber.

Police said that during the struggle, a shot was fired, hitting the leg of one of the residents.

The man who was shot has been identified as 29 year-old Darryl Chrismore.

The remainder of the residents wrestled the man to the floor and called police.

Chrismore was taken to a hospital where he underwent surgery. He's expected to be okay.

Bell has been charged with the following:

Armed Burglary and Use of a Firearm in Commission of the Burglary
Abduction and Use of a Firearm in Commission of the Abduction
2 counts of Attempt Robbery and 2 counts of Use of a Firearm in Commission of the Attempt Robbery
Malicious Assault and Use of a Firearm in Commission of the Assault
Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
Possession of a Sawed Off Shotgun
    Possession of a Stolen Firearm
Bell is being held in the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond.

    Wow...

    All those charges...

They will drop most of them and give him probation. He'll be out on the streets doing more stuff...say, in about 15 minutes?

Someone inside that home should have 'been fearing for his life'...

    Stay alert...stay safe!

    +1 retsupt99!

I can't believe that with a house full of people who were willing to fight against a guy who had a shotgun, the attitude wasn't, "Let's make sure this guy never comes back." I mean, one of them was hit by a shotgun blast, for cryin' out loud! Why didn't they KILL this subhuman P.O.S.?!

Being Bloodthirsty has nothing to do with it really. We all dispise with the upmost intensity criminals, bad guys and evil doers. Some of what is said is just a frustration with the criminal justice system where the criminal shoots someone they will be understanding but a guy in white hat defends himself and an overzelous prosecutor that doesn't believe in gun ownership might try to throw the book that he refused to throw at the bad guy because of some weird guilt he feels about all his blessings in life

After all, once the attacker is disarmed it's untenable to claim self-defense. I'm just pleased to hear that all of the victims survived, although I do hope that the leg injury is superficial.
    Howdy by the way.

The POS was 19 years old and already a convicted felon. He (it) obviously didn't learn anything from his previous conviction(s), and most assurably plans to continue the trend. Hopefully, when he hits again, his family can begin funeral arrangements. Bloodthirsty ? When it comes to burglars, home invaders ,car-jackers and child molesters, I plead guilty as charged. Why are these "people" being put back on the street before their time is served ????? Parole should not be allowed for ANY felony - no exceptions.

    Welcome aboard !!
