He ordered them to leave. Ordered. They disobeyed an order

My "orders" would not be verbal, and there would be no doubt to whom they were "targeted."

Proximity can be deadly. I'm sure the citizen sees this, now.

My "verbal warning" would have been the loud "BANG" that comes right after the trigger is pulled. To me, that is warning enough.

We can no longer reason with or talk to criminals, they have no fear of injury or death apparently and will stop at nothing to do what they do. That is how they roll.

"Rehabilitating" one on the permanent side is the best answer for crime. Also, the perp's buddies too. Word.

I'm not even going to try and reason with anyone who broke into my house.I won't give them any chance to harm me,if i can help it.

Hopefully,my dogs would let me know, if someone tried to kick in one of my steel doors,or a window.

Nice thread. got my wife and I talking. At first she wanted to talk the thugs out of the house (some women - and men could do that hahahahah) but after some discussion she has concluded that if someone has broken into the house the first sound the bad guys hear should be BANG. we talked about a demonstration at front sight where instructor yelled order to another instructor who then shot target to his side. After seeing that demo I concluded that I'm not shouting orders at a thug who has broken into my house. My wife is now on the same page.

It's not clear from the report but it appears he may not have had the gun i n hand when he told them to leave.

That was my take on the story also.

Anytime a gun needs to be brought into the situation talking is over.....for me
