Crime and opportunity, please don't provide criminals with guns!

I know the ATF, FBI, CIA, and some others are good at loosing firearms or getting them into the hands of criminals. What can we do here at the local level to avoid things like this from happening? Some crackhead now has an automatic weapon and ammo! Obviously this wasn't a bait car. Remove the temptation from your vehicle. Just like a bunch of new stuff visible in your car in a parking lot while Christmas shopping. I'm guessing that some LE patrol cars are not rigged with security alarms, and the dash cam only looks forward. Jeez folks! Maybe this was one of those parolees that fell through the cracks recently in the home state? What sort of circumstances make a vehicle appealing for a robbery attempt anyway? The year, make, model, color? Nope. A badge on the door and weapons inside.

Yep, makes perfect sense to leave an M-16 rifle in a cruiser overnight.

We should just make it illegal to steal stuff.

Perhaps they should have posted a "no stealing firearms" sign on the window.

People around here are breaking into cars for pocket change...and he's leaving an "assault rifle" in his car...epic fail.

It's funny I get grief when my blood boils when people post about their "truck guns" and how they leave them in the car over night.... But people seem to see the error in this LEOs ways.

Sheriff Joe is arming his deputies with M 16s. But he tells them to carry the rifle with them at all times. On or off duty. Works much better to prevent this from happening.
