While I prefer the option of being armed... It apparently isn't always an absolute necessity...

Home invader? Chase him off... (with what, I dunno.)

Home invader? Gang tackle him, call 911, sit on 'im, 'til LEO arrives.

Both cases, apparently unrelated, in Ypsilanti, MI.

Very true. A firearm is one tool in the toolbox, and the best one; arms, legs and handy objects are others.

Or, as Thulsa Doom might say, "what is steel compared to the hand that wields it?"

The character inherent in the American people has done all that has been accomplished; and it would have done somewhat more, if the government had not sometimes got in its way."

I've been told that anyone that would dare answer any threat without shooting someone is just trying to act tough and macho. Wonder if that same opinion would apply in this case?
