Thumbs down Bad - Couple kills older woman

This happened only blocks from my home. I guess the woman had guns but never had a chance to use them. Having a gun and having it available aren't the same. The guy beat her with a sledgehammer. Both were caught in Ft. Lauderdale.

And this is why I carry at home as long as I'm dressed, and I get dressed the moment I step out of bed. Sad story.

Why was she renting to them? This is terrible, but she invited misery into her home.

If the gun isnt on you or in arms reach when you need it you may as well have spent the money on a rosebush for all the good it will do you. And you have no way of knowing when or if you may need it. Sad story.

As an update, the news is reporting that the suspects were found and arrested.

The woman was killed in her bed while she was still sleeping. She never had a chance.

My family is accustomed to me having a handgun on my waist from the time I roll out of bed until the time I crawl back in. And in shower it is within arms reach.

My daughter had a paper to do (fourth grade) telling a little about herself and her family. One of the lines said "I love my daddy, he makes me feel safe and looks out for us"

This story is sad. Not sure what she could've done though if she was sleeping and didn't hear them coming?

These were people that lived with the woman. The male had actually lived there for quite some time. The dog would not alert you in a situation like this, I'm afraid, as the dog would not find them to be an unusual presence in the home.

Yeah the gun wearing would not have helped me here either, now that I see they lived there and got her in her sleep.
