If the firearm comes out (because you decided you might need it = SA + judgement), then use it! He's lucky they both were not killed, by his own firearm no less............... (and the Anti-2A people would just love a story like that). geeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzz

    They were armed?

He should have started popping off rounds at them.

Don't know the whole story, but it would seem the man could not bring himself to fire on another human. Or, his firearm malfunctioned. Or he did not know how to employ it. Sounds like a lack of training. We need more info to make a decision.

Sounds like he thought the presence of the gun would make the BGs magically flee and when it didnt had no idea or no nerve to do what needed to be done.

At least he had the guts to help someone. Too many people do not want to get involved. Don't be to hard on him.

^^^ this, I have seen many on this forum that would say he wasn't being threatened so he should just call 911 and be a good witness. I just can't live that way.

Hard to say, it's possible one surprised him, or rushed him. 4 v 1 are not good odds, gun or no gun.

THIS is a complaint the antis love to make. Unfortunately, it looks like they may be right.

This is also the hang up I have with the idea of 'the 2nd is the only permit I need' philosophy. Choosing to arm yourself for defense may be a right, but it one that comes with serious responsibilities, which many aren't prepared for.

Suffice to say, there is no debate about which ones I would want on my six when the stakes get high.

I think half of the bad news we hear down here in the Quad Cities is out of Clinton. Remind me not to ever move there.
