Good: Armed couple successfully resist three time home invader.

I didn't find this story anyplace else on the forum, so here's a link to it.

Armed Oakdale couple defend home from intruder, contribute to arrest | news10.net

The home invader had evaded police after they broke off a high speed chase for public safety reasons. He apparently damaged his car and attempted to invade the same home three times. The first time he saw a gun and left. He went to the back door, the wife took two shots at him. He went to a bedroom and got back in the house. When he charged the home owner he was shot once and held for police.

Good on the couple for: a) taking responsibility for their own safety, b) working as a team.

As traumatic as that experience must have been, I'm glad they were successful with out having to deal with the after effects of having killed another human being.

I wonder what guns they were using.

    Glad he got stopped.
Also, like you said, glad to hear they didn't have to deal with the after effects of killing someone.

When Anthony Liberini wants access to a place, he won't take 'No' for an answer, by God.

"Officers speculated Liberini may have entered the home to evade capture by the police after the pursuit"

I'm no cop, but that would be my suspicion as well.

Just read that one on Freepers.

Stupid guy. Hit in the torso.

What is amazing, being CA, is that the home owners will not be charged. Though, a DA would have to be pretty stupid to place charges in this situation. Even in San FranFreakShow, if the firearms were CA Legally owned. Although, in Oakland or San Fran, one would expect the homeowners to at least be cuffed-n-stuffed, regardless of the facts, until the Anti-2A political points were won, regardless of the cost of the lawsuit against the PD/DA afterwards.

Stanislaus like a lot of rural counties don't get the press and they want it that way but you would be surprised how different life in the country is from what you read in the press and San Francisco, LA or Sacramento.

Wait this is in California and the couple did not get charged?! I'm happy that they worked as a team, called 911 first, warned the intruder multiple times and then shot.

"Rakoncza said Liberini was on probation for possession of a controlled substance and out on bail on a separate possession of controlled substance case."

Let's legalize drugs and stop all this crime . . . Yeah, right.

Was there not an easier home to break into around there?

Despite our "well earned" reputation in California, that is absolutely correct. Get out of the major population centers in CA and you'll find many in the state are just as conservative as other "red" states, including those in law-enforcement. People elsewhere in the USA don't realize that. I live in El Dorado County now. It's very "pro-gun" and will never return to the Bay Area to live. But like anywhere else (I assume), even a clean justifiable shoot will almost certainly result in a civil lawsuit.

Problem is, most of the population centers are "blue" counties and carry the vote. That's why there is no real balance in our State Legislature and it's so anti-gun.
