Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

I'd be curious to see if alcohol was involved

Be absolutely sure you have identified your target beyond any doubt. Equally important, be aware of the area beyond your target. This means observing your prospective area of fire before you shoot. Never fire in a direction in which there are people or any other potential for mishap. Think first. Shoot second.
    Guess she missed that one.

Just wondering did she take Drunk Uncle Joe's advice and shoot through the door? There has to be more to it than that. A simple question of who is it could have prevented it. Here in the county I live in there was a 72 old man with early Ulhimezers was walking his dog and went to the wrong house and tried to get in thinking he was at home. He was shot and kill by homeowner. The man was unarmed and just confused no threat to anybody. These kinds of shooting are what fuel the anti-gunners agenda. Don't get me wrong I will defend me and my family but I am going to make sure there is a threat before I do.

Absolutely. The lack of decisional practice is one of the major holes in almost everyone's practice, assuming people practice. I doubt this woman does, though. And the question about booze being involved is a good one.

    Know your target, indeed.

And, don't ever, ever claim to have desired to kill. Whatever else is true, that isn't going to color things your direction no matter how righteous the situation might otherwise be. But, combine the too, blind foolishness in gunning down someone without identification or violence justifying the SD + a claim of desired intent to kill, then you're going to have some very steely-eyed folks asking some rough questions. Yeah.

She's thinking clearly, now, I think. Whatever will she tell her grandkids.

There may be more going on here. My understanding from news reports is that they are still looking for the gun used in the incident. Strange it would go missing.

crazy. sounds like she owned up to it. "lock me away for good." shoot now, ask questions later doesn't work in the real world. only for martin riggs and james bond.

Killed by a .22 pistol at close range, at a door with the door open... she will live with this mistake for the rest of her life....... and it will probably haunt her after death.
