    +1 on what Gary said.

Also, if they are chasing you, there is only one reason. You are a potential witness they need to silence.

Most criminals just run at the sight of a homeowner, or someone who would fight back. These people were determined to kill the good guy...that was obvious from the get go.

If the BG dies as the result of pointing a gun at me, then he has merely succumbed to an occupational hazard of being a thug.

I wouldn't give them anything, excepting what I had too, until I could freely give them some lead to hold them down in a wind storm.
They will do ANYTHING for drug money. So your life is NOT worth anything to them.

I never do well in the casinos as a result I do not bet or play the lottery. I don’t see a reason to bet on the good will of some thug that is trying to take something form me by force.

It's always very easy to read the scant details of a shooting's effects, like "in stable condition," and think, "Oh, well, he didn't die, he's getting patched up, and he'll be good as new."

It's naive to believe that after a .45 bullet (or any bullet) rips through your flesh, be it muscle, bone, or vital organs, that you'll be 100% whole after the doctors do their thing. What we don't read about very much are the horrific lasting injuries that are sustained and can trouble a shooting victim for the rest of his life.

I feel bad for victims who are shot (unless of course the "victim" is a criminal shot by his own would-be victim). For a lonnng time, I used to just read the glossed-over "details" in the paper and think naively that the person was going to be just fine. It took a story in the local paper about a woman who was shot by robbers who followed her home after she won a bingo jackpot to make me realize that bullet wounds (in her case, to the abdomen) really mess you up. She will never be "okay" after her injuries.

    Great quote! I like it!

Gary, one more thing about credit cards, if I may.

Many of us have a bunch of cards of various types in our wallets.
At least two credit cards, etc. A driver's license, membership cards to various organizations.

I recommend taking all of the cards to a photocopier, laying them all out, and making a couple of copies; then flip them over in place and copy the backs (that's where the 1-800 numbers are). Keep a copy in a safe place.

If you ever lose your wallet to theft of misplacement, you can EASILY track down ALL of the cards you will have to cancel/renew/replace.

If you go on vacation and your wallet is stolen, it would probably be pretty tough and time-consuming to think of all the card companies or organizations you had to call. You'll be stressed and have a hard time remembering them all. So if you go on vacation, keep one of those photocopies of the cards in your pocket, too.

Right No!! VERY GOOD advice on the credit cards and I agree with you.
The victim may be recovering, but the effects can be a long,if ever fully recoverable. Especially as a person ages.
Don't understand why they worry about cruel and inhumane treatment for executions.THose who are executed didn't worry about their victims pain or the lasting results

The Marxist-Socialist types that bleat about the death penalty being "cruel and unusual punishment" are only using our own constitution against us so as to influence our "useful idiots" who buy into such nonsense. Anything to get their agenda going. Just like anti-gunners who claim banning guns will reduce crime -- the smart ones know better, but they don't care, they only care about their agenda.

    Sorry for hijacking...

    There was a day

According to the older generations, there was a day when it may have been good to "give them what they want, they'll leave you alone".

That was many, many years ago.

At the time, even criminals in jail knew the game of law and order, and were decently behaved in jail, etc.

Today, we have bloodthirsty hoodlums and bangers looking to make their mark with a violent crime.

I for one will not give them what they want. I will give them exactly what they do not want, a fight for their life.

The problem is you never know if what they want ends. The hardcore criminals don't like witnesses. Tossing them your wallet, creating a diversion, and then giving them what they deserve, sounds appropriate.
