U.K. self defense at its finest

Businessman Andrew Woodhouse cleared of using unreasonable force against fuel burglars | Mail Online

Man defends his property from criminals. They get a 75 fine. He faces felony charges. His crime? Attacking the would be burglars with his fence post...that he took from one of the criminals!

This could easily be our future.

They broke into his business attacked him. He responds outnumbered two to one and faced life in prison. Thankfully the jury had more sense than the prosecutor.

Sadly, there are more than a few jurisdictions here in America in which he would have been prosecuted, too.

The people of the UK are finally getting fed up with the criminals running the judicial system.
Even some of the higher ups in the system(lawmakers) are starting to question whether the laws are too much in favor of the thugs, and not affording the good people a chance to protect themselves.
It may take a long time to reverse the stupidity, but perhaps its a start.

Stop a crime. Get treated as a criminal or enemy of the State.
Disagree with the regime. Get treated as a criminal or enemy of the State.
Attempt to stand up for your rights. Get treated as a criminal or enemy of the State.

Didn't folks escape Europe back in the 18thC to get away from such crap as this? Aren't folks from all over the world doing the same, today?

The politically-motivated destroyers should think long and hard about what sort of world they're striving to leave their own children. Folks voting for such destroyers should think sharply and briefly about how much longer they want to allow such destroyers to remain within 1000yds of our Constitution and courts.

A great result, but its a real problem in the UK and elsewhere. Criminals think they are just stealing a few dollars worth of fuel, what can it harm?, but it costs business a huge amount. I am a firm believer that when you illegally enter a premises, you leave all your rights at the door.. Two broken legs at 53 years old is very nasty, but so is stealing someone's livelihood.. A good result for Mr. Woodhouse

He should 'ave just givin' em a stern warning eh governor?

See what he's gone and done! They should have thrown the bloody book at him and been done with it. How dare he take the weapon of his attacker and use it against them in self-defense?

Above sarcasm. I wonder what the "outcome" would have been if these blokes had attacked a Member of Parliament or the Queen or her family? Makes you wonder.

What I don't understand is if the Victim owns a fence post that tells me, he owns a shovel too and probably knows how to use it. This was his Landscaping Business after all!
Wouldn't it have been less trouble to just bury the evidence and keep his mouth shut?

It a sad day when you fear your Government MORE than you do the Criminals who come to rob you.

A $lb 75 fine. That's laughable. They should have been fined for all of Woodhouse's Legal Expenses and loses over the years.
Which, according to the Report, were in the 30,000 British lb range!
What have you done to prepare for the end of civilization as we know it?

Was that a sporting fence post or an assault fence post?
