    Glad the homeowner is ok. Could have turned out bad for the homeowner. Sounds like the homeowner wasn't armed.

    Which is all the worse since he left the guns he owned HOME ALONE. I bet those poor firearms felt just like Macaulay Culkin.

    A dead dirtbag (teen or not) was playing a dangerous game and ended up cashing in his 'early retirement papers'...I doubt that this was his first rodeo, but it will be his last...
    You break into someone's home and get shot...that's life. Glad the homeowner came out unscathed.

    I wonder how long it will take the family to sue for wrongful death. After all the guy did have steal-able guns and left his house unattended, clearly he was asking for it. (Attn: The preceding comments were sarcastic in nature.)

    BG deceased = good.
    Tactics = bad

    Hmm, it's not clear from the report whether or not the homeowner was armed. Also not clear if he advised police he planned to enter. Lucky for him the thief wasn't prepared to shoot first.

    Yeah, probably not the wisest decision, but it worked out well for the homeowner.

    If as reported, that's exactly what should have happened. Armed felon threatening murder on an innocent, and said armed felon is no longer a factor in the grand scheme of things.

    To such felons: You want to put people's lives at risk? You're going to be held accountable for that. Enjoy the ride, if you're able, however brief it might be. And if you have a speck of honor left, then you'll lay down your arms, repent and do everything you can to live an upstanding life the remainder of your days. Fail in that, and you'll get what you get.

    Condolences to the little felon's family, those who might be impacted by his passing. And, to those who had to clean up after the guy ... the resident, the second-responders, the investigators, coroner and all other staff related to this pointless situation.

    I think that's the sheriff's opinion also.
