Well, the ARFcom folks (as well as the rest of us) will be proud to know Det. Hobbs got off 11 shots with his AR after being mortally hit himself, scoring 8 hits and killing the bad guy.

Sadly, neither detective was wearing a vest... didn't want to blow the undercover part.

And the bad guy was a seriously bad guy. Just got out of prison in January, and had a felony warrant for attempted murder. Phoenix police identify gunman who killed 1 officer, wounded a second | azfamily.com Phoenix

Best thoughts to his family and friends. It sounds as though he had many.

The local response is truly remarkable. I've been in the valley now for 11 years and a number of cops have been KIA, but I've never seen the outpouring of emotion and support as there is for Det. Hobbs.

Agreed, rest in peace, Det. Hobbs, and thanks for making the world a safer place.

Anti-gunners seem to believe that if we just pass enough laws, we can have utopia. Unfortunately, utopia is NOT one of our choices.
