Update to Triple Homicide at a Charleston, SC Motorcycle Store

A while back I posted a story about a triple homicide that took place at a motorcycle shop that I go to for parts and accessories for my bike. The suspect was originally arrested and charged with 1st degree murder. However, it looks like the evidence presented during the stand your ground hearing showed that he acted in self defense.

Here is a link to my original post:

Here is the updated article regarding the stand your ground hearing:

Based off the original story and the way the media presented I would have thought that Mr. Reid was screwed. This case is a good reminder that stand your ground laws can still have some significant costs involved even if a shooting is justified.

Simple case of being at the wrong place at the wrong time, at least he had a means to fight back.

Unfortunately the whole thing could have been avoided if the parties acted like adults.

Altercation between rival motorcycle clubs? What is this? West Side Story?

    Ridiculous.

Ridiculous but it happens more than the general public realizes. Usually because it doesnt tend to happen at businesses or cycle shops. But when it does there are few places its more dangerous to be. Glad the guy is ok and didnt get railroaded by the state.
Likely he has enough to worry about looking over his shoulder now.

Looks like he already had one piece of safety gear he needed more than a helmet.

The "Cycle Gear" chain is not know as an outlaw hangout. The limited stock of "biker gear" they sell is poor quality imported crap, plus none of their cheap house-brand helmets are large enough for my 3x head. lol.
I don't always have nothing to say, but when I do, I post it on Facebook.
